Reasons to get an MBA

In our increasingly competitive marketplace, employers put greater value on education than ever before:

"The MBA is the most remarkable step-up mechanism ever invented. Business schools take people of infinite variety and give them a tremendous platform for opportunity. If you do well, the opportunities are fabulous. ...it’s a great way to change your life. There aren’t too many mechanisms around which allow that."
Paul Danos, Dean of the Tuck School, Dartmouth College

The typical MBA grad of 2002 can expect to receive a base starting salary of U.S. $75,000 (the median). This compares the typical undergraduate starting salary of U.S. $41,000 (median) and to the starting salary for these with other graduate degrees U.S. $50,000. So, the MBA degree carries a U.S. $34,000 premium over undergraduate degrees and a U.S. $25,000 premium over other graduate degrees.

The gap is widening. In addition, through the year 2006, employment opportunities will grow fastest for professionals with a college education. Currently, a majority of the fastest growing and highest paying occupations require at least a bachelor's degree.

Online MBA University Guide

More and more of the country's top MBA programs can be completed entirely online. The learning experience is extremely stimulating, since there are various means for students and professors to communicate directly, such as email, chat groups, message boards, etc. An online MBA program offers complete flexibility, enabling you to work part-time, full-time, and even travel while achieving your degree. These programs are much more efficient than the traditional approach: most online MBAs take only between one and three years to complete.
